Planning & controls

Planning and controls

A programme that survives contact with the site, monthly progress against a baseline, and delay analysis that holds up.

Planning and controls

You can see where the job actually is, and prove where it was when something moved.

Who this is for Contractors and developers who need a defensible programme, a monthly report, or support on an extension-of-time claim.

What you receive

Programme build and baseline

A work breakdown, logic, durations and resources, built to be approvable and then frozen as the baseline.

Monthly progress update and S-curve

Actual against baseline, the critical path as it stands, the variance, and what it would take to recover it.

4D sequence on the model

The programme linked to the federated model, so a sequence can be reviewed by looking at it rather than reading it.

Delay analysis and EOT support

A named method, the records it relies on, and the entitlement it supports, issued as a report, not an assertion.

Quantity take-off and BoQ

Measured take-off, from the model where a model exists, with the measurement rules stated so a rate can be checked.

The scope, at a glance

  • Project initiation

Scope, objectives and deliverables defined, with a charter the stakeholders agree.

  • Planning and scheduling

Detailed plans, schedules, milestones and resource plans on a clear baseline.

  • Cost management

Estimate, budget and control, with cash flow monitored against performance.

  • Risk management

Risks identified, assessed and ranked, with mitigation and contingency.

  • Resource management

The right people, plant and materials planned and allocated.

  • Communication management

Communications planned so information reaches the right party on time.

  • Quality management

Quality standards and processes, with audits and inspections that bite.

  • Procurement management

Procurement, supplier evaluation and contract administration.

  • Performance monitoring

Progress tracked, KPIs reported, and earned value that supports a decision.

  • Project closure

Deliverables completed, approvals obtained, contracts closed, lessons captured.

  • Delivered on time Disciplined planning against a baseline.
  • Quality first A quality-focused approach in every deliverable.
  • Costs controlled Effective cost management that keeps a project inside its budget.
  • Data-driven Data and tools behind every reported figure.

How it is produced

01

Logic, not dates

The programme is driven by relationships and durations. Constraints are used sparingly and every one of them is listed.

02

Progress is measured, not estimated

Each activity gets a measurable completion rule at baseline, so an update is a reading rather than an opinion.

03

Records are kept as if there will be a claim

Because on most jobs there is, and a claim is only ever as strong as the contemporaneous record behind it.

Questions clients ask

Which delay analysis method do you use?

Whichever the records support: the method is chosen from what is actually available and it is named in the report, never left implicit.

Can you take over an existing P6 programme?

Yes. The first output is a health check on the schedule (open ends, negative float, constraint count) before anything is updated.

Do we need a BIM model for the 4D sequence?

Yes, and it does not have to be ours. Any federated model with usable object grouping can be linked to the programme.
